A successful first half of the year for Eirich at trade fairs: New and innovative solutions for the ceramics and battery industries – and now also for the food industry

At the start of 2024, mixing and preparation technology expert Eirich embarked on a new strategic move to branch out to the food sector. As part of this, the company presented its products at two international trade shows in Cologne. Eirich plans to use its know-how to help the confectionery & snacks industry develop resource-efficient production systems for high-quality products and to highlight new options for the sector. This was followed by further major trade exhibitions in Munich, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart. In the ceramics industry and process industry, Eirich has already been established as a driving force behind innovation for many years. Similarly, the company has also impressed many in the battery industry as a partner for energy-efficient production.

Hardheim, July 2024: For Eirich from Hardheim/Germany, the first half of 2024 was characterized by a number of major trade fairs. The team from Eirich took the opportunity to talk directly to potential and existing customers from across all industries, and the company’s demonstrations of its technology at the shows met with great interest from the specialist audience. In Germany alone, Eirich attended five trade shows with stands ranging in size from 20 to 186 m2. For the combined total of 20 trade fair days, on average 6-20 employees and representatives from other countries were present on site. As well as attending the main trade fairs, Eirich also has a presence at up to 50 further international symposiums and exhibitions every year.

Prosweets: Eirich moves into new industry
In the spring, Eirich exhibited for the first time at Prosweets in Cologne, one of the leading trade fairs for the confectionery & snacks industry. At the show, the company premiered its solutions for the food industry. With CleanLine C5, Eirich demonstrated a mixer that is capable of running through multiple process steps one after the other or as an overlapping sequence. This enables efficient production of high-quality products whilst minimizing the risk of contamination. The technology allows companies to unlock new product categories and reconfigure their production processes in order to make them much more efficient.

“In the past, we had many requests from interested companies in the food industry who were familiar with our technology from other industries and were keen to use it themselves. It was clear to us that this could be a huge field of application with complex processes and tremendous potential. To meet this demand, we are now offering new machines with hygienic designs made entirely of stainless steel – allowing us to provide a range of solutions that are perfectly tailored to the sector. This is a real win-win solution – both for producers and for us,” is how CEO Stephan Eirich explains the drive into the new industry.

Anuga FoodTec: Live demonstrations and innovations
In March Eirich offered some insight into food production at Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, attracting interested parties to its booth with live tasting sessions. The focus was on the multifunctionality of the special mixer, which brings together process steps such as mixing, granulating, coating, kneading, dispersing, and drying and allows them all to be carried out in just a single mixing chamber. With its so-called one-pot method, this innovative technology replaces multiple machines and boosts efficiency. The highly flexible Eirich mixing principle with a rotating pan and the eccentrically mounted variable mixing rotor ensures particularly high mixing quality for a wide range of different end products.

ceramitec: Focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability
The ceramics industry is one of the sectors that has suffered the most from rising energy prices. As a branch of industry that is highly energy-intensive, it needs innovative solutions and developments to help it face the future from a stronger position. At ceramitec, the world's leading trade fair for the ceramics industry, Eirich demonstrated a wide range of potential solutions that are designed to help companies on the path to a climate-neutral future. The exhibition team presented the EcoPrep® method (Economical Preparation), a much more environmentally friendly alternative to energy-intensive spray towers. The Eirich method produces a high-quality and costeffective granulate, which is subsequently pressed into slurries or other ceramic products. Here, in comparison to conventional technologies this process saves up to 60 percent in terms of energy, raw materials, and additives.

Achema: Broad expertise from digitalization to environmental protection
In June the process industry came together in Frankfurt. Eirich presented itself as a strong partner to help companies take the first step into the world of digitalization, demonstrating solutions for systems with an integrated control concept for the entire system, data analysis during ongoing operation, and secure handling of collected data. Smart solutions based, among other things, on AI and e.g. optical inline product analysis enable autonomous analysis and intelligent control of a line – and with this plenty of potential for optimization. The major challenges of the 21st century, such as climate protection and responsible use of resources, are also core topics for Eirich. The long-established company regards the energy and technology transformation currently taking place as an opportunity and offers a wide range of  solutions to help companies on the path to a climate-neutral future.

Battery Show Europe: Mixing competence for dry electrodes
The energy transition is in full swing. This year’s Battery Show Europe in Stuttgart once again underlined the important role battery production has to play here. Not only was Eirich able to impress the specialist audience with its established products for wet electrodes, but the company also brought along the latest technologies for the preparation of dry electrodes. Eirich believes that it is very well positioned in this field, which has huge potential for the future. Numerous inquiries and appointments with top representatives from battery factories and the automotive industry underlined the innovative strength behind the label “made in the Odenwald mountains.”

Cross-industry expertise
The successful appearances at all these trade fairs show that Eirich can offer innovative solutions to help manufacturers with the specific challenges of their industries. In the process, the experts from Hardheim in Germany are increasingly focusing their efforts on technologies that use resources more carefully and more responsibly, as well as on smart systems that offer customers tailor-made and sustainable production processes. “Complex preparation techniques are what we specialize in. As a cross-industry trendsetter, we aim to actively drive the development of new products using sustainable methods and to highlight new options for optimization. By taking advantage of our expertise, our customers will enjoy real process improvements that will not only boost efficiency, but also deliver tangible savings in terms of energy consumption and costs,” explains CEO Ralf Rohmann.
