Eirich modernizes face concrete mixing line for KANN GmbH Baustoffwerke

Hardheim, July 2024: Maschinenfabrik Gustav Eirich GmbH & Co KG has successfully modernized the face concrete mixing line at the factory of KANN GmbH Baustoffwerke in Fürstenfeldbruck in Germany. This extensive modernization process will enable significant efficiency gains and quality improvements in concrete production.

Efficiency gains and quality improvements through state-of-the-art technology
The modernization included the supply and integration of state-of-the-art components and systems that were specially tailored to the requirements of KANN GmbH Baustoffwerke. These included five screw feeders for different binding agents, two hopper scales for the face concrete and core mixing line, a dust extraction filter, and a face concrete mixer of type RV12 500. The project was rounded off with a high-precision product transfer line to the bucket conveyor system as well as extensive engineering and installation supervision services provided by Eirich.

Across the large product range and in terms of surface finishing, the new line components have reduced the reject rate by an impressive figure of around 3 percent. In addition, the homogeneity of the mixtures has been significantly improved, resulting in more uniform moisture distribution and brighter coloration of the concrete products. “Our production processes have been revolutionized by the new mixer. The mixtures are now perfectly homogeneous, which has significantly improved the quality of our products,” explains Wilhelm Neiser, Technical Director of KANN GmbH Baustoffwerke.

Smooth implementation and excellent customer feedback
Planning and implementation of the project took place in close collaboration with KANN GmbH Baustoffwerke. Every step – from the initial contact in June 2021 to the detailed planning discussions and site measurements in February 2023 as well as the final delivery and commissioning of the line components in December 2023 and January 2024 – was carried out smoothly and completed on-time. Disassembly and removal of the old line and mechanical/electrical installation work were carried out by the customer with assistance from Eirich experts.

Wilhelm Neiser was clearly extremely happy with the results: “The mixer has significantly exceeded our expectations. Every mix comes out exactly the same as the last one, with the same high quality of mixing every time. The colors of the products are noticeably brighter and more vivid, the mixtures do not stick anymore, and our cycle times have been shortened dramatically. All in all, this has led to a much more relaxed and significantly more profitable way of working.”

A groundbreaking partnership
These positive results have underlined the competence and power to innovate of Eirich in mixing technology and have strengthened the company’s longstanding partnership with KANN GmbH Baustoffwerke. The successful implementation of the project has shown again that the combination of individually tailored solutions and state-of-the-art technology can deliver lasting improvements in terms of the efficiency and quality of concrete production.
