Eirich makes a stir at Bauma 2025

Company demonstrates efficient concrete preparation with a unique 3D experience live at its trade fair stand

The world's leading trade fair for construction machinery will be opening its doors in Munich from April 7–13, 2025. Under the motto of “Together better concrete,” not only will mixing and preparation technology specialist Eirich be showing off its extensive product portfolio, but the company will also be presenting a number of digital innovations at the event, including a visual in-line concrete analysis system. Visitors to the Eirich booth can look forward to an impressive experience where the dynamic Eirich mixing principle will be brought to life in a virtual mixing show for everyone to see up close for themselves.

Hardheim, January 2025. Times are still tough for the construction industry, with the current difficulties affected by a range of economic and political factors. The industry faces a host of challenges – from the rising costs of energy and raw materials to increasing sustainability demands as well as a continued shortage of skilled workers and new digitalization pressures across the sector. For many years now, Eirich has already been focusing on the development of digital and innovative technologies that support energy-efficient and resource-saving production with durable, long-lasting mixers. The goal is to reduce the amounts of raw materials and energy used and minimize scrap rates, which will extend the lifecycle of the machine. And the CO2 footprint of the concrete processed in this way is significantly reduced in all areas – for example thanks to the energy savings in the process and the reduced amounts of binding agents and raw materials that are required.

“Best-in-class mixer” for unrivaled results and efficiency boosts

Latest developments such as the new EL5 Laboratory Mixer with smart digital controls will be on show at Stand 449 in Hall C1. The 5-liter mixer is smaller, more lightweight, and smarter than its tried-and-tested predecessor – and this with the same high levels of performance and robustness. It impresses with incredibly easy operation, scalability, integrated tilt adjustment, and well thought-out options for day-to-day laboratory operations. One new feature is the integrated inline rheological measurement capability. Thanks to this digital measuring method, complex laboratory analyses and sampling using slump flow tests or other consistency measurement techniques are significantly simplified or no longer required at all for follow-up mixes.

At bauma 2025, Eirich will be demonstrating professional mixing solutions using its R12 500 Intensive Mixer, including an overview of how the latest mixing technology developments incorporate new features with the aid of smart upgrades. The demonstration will also give trade fair visitors some insight into what top quality end products should look like.

As well as focusing on more responsible use of resources, the solutions from Eirich have also been designed with maximum flexibility in mind for future recipe requirements.

“For more than 160 years our company has been all about innovation and progress. This longstanding experience puts us in a position where we can make an important contribution to help deliver a climate-neutral future. The ever-changing challenges we and our clients in the industry face motivate us to keep developing and refining our products and to keep pushing ahead with research so that we can give our customers what they need to be fit for the future,” explains CEO Stephan Eirich.

Digitalization – the secret to success

Eirich’s digital solutions are also undergoing groundbreaking upgrades. For example, the intelligent, AI-based camera systems in the product series “Vision Control” enable the measurement and analysis of particle sizes of raw materials (e.g. grading based on particle size). Depending on the specific installation position and production environment, the cameras can be used either before the mixing process as a means for inspecting the quality of incoming goods, or after the mixing process as part of a system that uses digitized, AI-assisted solutions to make production processes more stable.

Representatives from Eirich will be running live tests for trade show visitors directly from their exhibition stand. “On the first three days of the exhibition, visitors will be able to bring their own samples of around 0.5 l for us to test directly on site. This will allow visitors to see up close what we can do today,” explains Philipp Pahl, Product Manager for Digital Solutions. The optimization of production processes and intelligent networking of lines and equipment generates increased efficiency and sustainability.

Individual data analysis across different machines with the LogLizer system as the “data collector” for the system helps customers to spot correlations and run diagnostic troubleshooting in the process. In this approach, analysis of the system and batch parameters simplifies individual error analyses. Specific questions, observations, or problems can be localized and resolved more quickly.

Moving away from the process and focusing instead on the machine, in the area of Lifecycle Services Eirich offers solutions for Condition Monitoring that supply machine data and information about component wear in real time. With the aid of this early warning system, customers can improve the timing and scope of service engineer visits.

Furthermore, in addition to its intelligent camera systems upstream and downstream of the mixer, Eirich also offers the option of using even more robust cameras to take a look inside the dynamic Eirich Mixer. As an “eye” into dusty and dirty applications, the camera installed in the mixer offers a live view from the control room of what is going on inside the mixer.

A live, hands-on mixing experience

In addition, the unique 3D experience that visitors can experience live from the trade fair stand will enable them to experience processes in the mixer firsthand. A virtual mixing show for all concrete enthusiasts and Eirich fans will show the dynamic performance, precision, and speed of the intensive mixer live at Stand 449 in Hall C1. And selfies from the mixer will of course be expressly permitted!
