Award for pioneering recycling technology: "Minister of the Environment Award" at the Japan Open Innovation Prize

We are pleased to announce that our joint project "Demonstration Development of Recycling Technology for Woody Biomass Combustion Ash to Achieve Social Implementation of Ultra-Low Carbon Concrete" has been awarded the "Minister of the Environment Award" at the 7th Japan Open Innovation Prize .
The project was realized under the direction of Professor Koji Takasu at Kitakyushu University's Faculty of Environmental Engineering, in collaboration with Kyoto University, Nishimatsu Construction, Nippon Eirich (especially our colleague Hideaki Konaga), and Hibikinada Energy Park LLC.
Why is the project so special?
The newly developed material actively contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and is already so advanced that it can be used in practice. In addition, its positive effect can be clearly measured – an important step towards a sustainable future.
This award is a great example of the strength of industry and academic collaborations and shows how valuable long-term collaboration is for innovation.
A heartfelt thank you to all those involved for their commitment and support.
